A movable floor is a fantastic addition to a hydrotherapy pool. However, choosing the right movable floor system for your pool can be a challenge, as the movable floor will definitely affect the water flow in the pool. Movable floors that have a largely closed off surface, will create a high concentration of chlorine beneath, and a low concentration above the floor. Moving the floor will inadvertently cause a cloud of chloramines above the pool causing a strong chlorine odour and itchy eyes. These chloramines also jeopardize the health of the patient. In this new presentation, we will cover the effects of a movable floor on water circulation and point out why it is so important for a movable floor to be water permeable.
